Business Model Draft

Value Propositions:
  • Reduce negative environmental impact of disposable cups
  • Create a travel mug that is compact and varies in size
  • Busy hot beverage drinkers
  • Value of convenience

There is a negative impact on the environment from the use of plastic/paper cups (disposable). Reuseable cups can be a nuisance to carry around.
Need: A reusable travel mug that is compact and can vary in size for easy transport.
We are building a reusable, collapsible travel mug for the busy beverage drinkers, customers who enjoy or just need a hot drink on the run but want something easier to transport. We are giving the customer  the value of convenience.

Customer:
- Need convenience no hassle
- Range of ages and professions young people, parents, businesspeeps
- Time restricted
- Eco Conscious
- Want to use reusable

Our customers are (assumed) people who wish to use a reusable coffee cup but don’t because it is inconvenient. Ranging from young people to business people to parents. People who don’t have the time to sit down and enjoy the convenience of a takeaway coffee but don’t want the nuisance of a bulky travel mug. What’s important to these customers - convenience - ease - no hassel - reusing a mug.  (figure out exact archetype through primary and secondary research)


Channels:
The product would get to the customer y being distributed and sold at cafes, shops supermarkets it will also be sold online through the company's website but also be distributed through other online marketplaces where it is sold on behalf etc.


Customer Relationships:
Get: Through advertising and educating them on the impacts of disposable cups to the environment. Offer them a solution to their needs through this product. Selling in stores, offering a deal with coffee shops/roasteries, working with other brands. Working with existing brands who already make reusable cups. Working with them instead of against.
Keep: Making the product well. Something that they would continue to use and share through word of mouth with their friends.
Grow: Educating and helping to change behaviours. Word of mouth. Staying relevant. Working with things broader than the product itself. Environment education etc


Revenue Streams:
We make money by selling the product and making a profit. The customers are paying for the value of a prduct that could help eliminate some of the negative environmental immpacts of disposeable cups by having a reuseable one that offers even more convienience. Direct sale. *Research cost of travel mugs already in the field eg cheap, branded, designer, special edition etc. What they currently cost, payment preference.


Resources:
Capital - Money to fund prototyping and production and product - Manufacturer willing to produce and able to also. Sales people - to get it into shops and cafes etc, intellectual rights to the product, engineers/ designers to make the product. People to run buisness those roles. Way to build customer relations.

Partners:
Shops, cafes. Suppliers: Places we get material for this product. Strategic Alliance: Someone who can invest in business and has connections within coffee/cafe industry or in sales. Work with existing brands and products.


Activities:
Define that the product is viable and needed within the market. Set out exact ways it will be produced and manufactured and sold. Start to end. -idea - investment - design - production - distribution  - marketing - sales - customer relations.
Engineering and designing. Product and brand. Manufacturing and distributing.
